How do i remove my rear deforster and hazard buttons?
i want to take these buttons out so i can put some blue LED's in them, but i can not figure out how to get them out! i was sitting in my car for a while last night fiddling with it and it just would not budge. on the back of the button, i can only find one clip that i can push in... and when i do, half of it want to come out, and the other half is still secure. what gives? i can not find anything else holding it in. please help. thanks

pry them apart. they slide in from the front, (if you are looking at them in the dash they would pull toward you). it takes a bit of effort. i used a flat blade screw driver and pick/hook tools. they have tabs on each side. pudh them in and then just pop out the switch, thats the hard part. taking them apart is another story. i have done it but cant remember. i bet araffio can help you there.

you need to pull the vent out, like your taking the stereo out. Then you will see the 2 buttons, there is a tab that pushes in and a tab that doesn't move, push the tab in and push as hard as you can...it will come out. I've taken mine out twice (also for LED swap) It's not easy, and getting them back in is no easier. Hope this helps

ok, well i gave up on it. i couldn't find my little baggie of LED's, and i think i needed a resistor. so i just put it all back together... but i first changed my clock and climate control from blue to white... now i can actually see my read outs! lol. oh well.

leds need resistors to work unfortunetly. 12 volts will blow the led so yes you will need a resistor for each led. the resistor im sure you know just lowers the voltage, heres a good link for people who would like to know more http://linear1.org/ckts/led.php wait i dont even understand, id better read up on this stuff.
