Exhaust help please 911 Fart can NOOOOOOOOOOOO

I just had a warpspeed y pipe carsound cat and resonated warpseed b pipe installed with a magnaflow 14829 street series muffler. THe problem is that the exhsut is not deep at all it sounds farty arround 3500 rpm and when i step on it the exhaust gives off a farty sound. How long does it usually take for an exhsut to break in and get a deeper sound> i had the exahsut on for 4 days and have driven 700 miles the sound has changed a little , should I expect more of a change and if so how long does it usually take.

It won't change much lol. I can jsut hear your car now lol by the way you explain it.

The only thing you can try to do is try another muffler.

Ummm, what I mentioned was the only smart thing to do. That Warpedspeed y-pipe, cat, and Warpedspeed resonated b-pipe have been proven to provide a nice deep tone, with the right muffler. The only thing he can do is change th muffler out, as I mentioned on the first post. I am smart, thank you.

^ Apexi is pretty quiet supposedly.. also the OBX. If you want to quiet the exhaust down the best thing would probably be to get a 2002/3 muffler and have it welded on. You shouldn't loose much flow at all.

Same thing he said. I just got a Magnaflow muffler put on my car a couple off days ago along with custom piping and it has a nice deep sound to it.

The only "quiet" setup with a Y-pipe and B-pipe is the OEM muffler or the 2000+ muffler. PERIOD. I've got a 2K+ muffler on my 96 with a y-pipe and the sound is great. The 2K+ muffler is slightly throatier than the OEM 4th gen muffler.

Dave B, was there any trouble with the newer muffler or did it just fit right up to the rest of the exhaust?

The 2K muffler uses the stock hangars. All that's required to fit the muffler is about 10 minutes at a muffler shop.

Js97MAXSE - It is not bolt-on. You have to cut & weld. To make mine fit, they cut the 2k muffler pipe totally off, and welded on the pipe from my stock muffler.

well, not actually bolt on but U-clamps that are threaded at each end and you put the small end pipe into the big end pipe and tighten down to connect the 2 pipes together, you know what i mean.

this maybe helpless but what ever you do , don't put a y-pipe ,high flow cat and b-pipe on with the stock 4thgen muffler. I had this for about a week and i switched it because the sound was so bad. It was like a bad putter sound, your best bet is to go with a 2k muffler.

weird. i have warpspeed y-pipe + 14829 magnaflow muffler street series. no fart sound at all. it sounds more like a domestic V8 stock exhaust system.

double check for any leakage between each exhaust component. also, are you using exhaust gasket?
