Car hesitates when starting up.

When I turn the key, the car starts coughing a little then eventually starts up. Always on first crank, so I don't think it's the starter. I'm not entirely sure, but could it be that I'm running 10W30 in sub-zero temps? Someone suggested cleaning the throttle body, which I'm going to do. But do you guys think there's anything else I should check?

The same thing is happeneing to my car. I just replaced the starter and ignition coils, so that's not the problem. It sees like it's not getting fuel. This morning it tok me 2 or 3 times to crank over. It only happens on cold mornings, so I dunno how concerned I should be. How many miles does your car have on it? Mine has 63k.

70k exact same problem, i find it works the best if you turn the key and give it some gas, i usually rev up to around 4grand and then it wont turn off on me. when i dont do that it revs to about 1500 and then cuts off, makes a weird noise 2.

mine makes a weird noise when starting but doesn't hesitate. The noise is a loud high pitched grinding of some kind, it sounds kinda scary but it goes away in warmer weather.

What's the part # for the cts?

AllData gives me: 2263044B20

But, when I go to www.nissanparts.cc, the description is: Engine Coolant

I don't want to buy a jug of engine coolant. :-/

..and, where do you guys get the part numbers for these things? Do you just call the Nissan dealer every time? AllData doesn't list all that info.

I was getting a noise like that, but I did the starter rebuild by using the write up on http://www.motorvate.ca/mvp.php/516 , the instructions were clear, the fix was easy, and best of all, no more starter noise. I would do this even if you aren't getting this exact noise, just as a preventative measure.

Ok well thanks for your help, I'm looking into getting my battery tested and also replacing my coolant temp. sensor. Shouldn't be too hard from what I gather. Thanks again .org!

someone gave me a great bit of advice..turn the key to the on position and wait till the beeping stops to try and start the car, this pressurizes the fuel line and makes the car easier to turn over.

I had the same problem about 2 weeks ago until it didnt start one day. I replaced the battery and now it starts up like a champ. It also fixed my dimming bose radio.

Thanks,
Mike
