He refused to sell you the plugs???? I did have a parts guy tell me the coppers were the wrong ones, but I insisted and of course he still sold them to me.

If you've got the cash, he would be dumb not to sell it to you.

Go to NAPA like I did Tell the Nissan dealer it's for a Mazda Miata or go to a Mazda dealer and tell him it's for a Maxima

For everyday use and for longitivity I stick with platinums, it shouldn't make much difference either way. 72 bux just way too much, I would say charging that much for platinums is pure theft. But if you look at the price of platinum 800 an ounce eventually everyone will go to copper because of the scarcity of platinum.

I'll bet they just coat copper core with platinum anyways.

When I had my plugs changed I was told I needed "laser tipped" plugs. Anybody ever heard of these?

The dealer charging 72 dollars for 6 spark plugs is very very overpriced... just go into any auto part store and you should be able to get a set for around half that.

Ask the mod mzmtg about coppers, I think he had said they are the same as a 97 Altima. Verify from him, then walk into a local auto parts store and as for NGK plugs for a 97 Altima. The dealership charges you more for the same plugs.

Just write down the number on a piece of paper and walk in there and ask for 6 of those That's what I did at NAPA and I was out in 2 minutes (receipt took too long to print...)
