Quick Question/Idea

My Maxspeed springs and tokico shocks are almost here, but the KYB dust boots are on backorder and i want to get my suspension done, so I want to know is it possible, or wise, to get the regular dust boots, and then cut them, this would save me time, but i dont know it it is wise to do this. Have any of you done this?

Gee:

When I installed my maxspeeds with KYB I used an aftermarket Autozone dust boot. We cut them and zip tied them to the strut body and they have been fine. They actually provided better coverage then the OEM boots.
