1st O2 sensor on the y-pipe

Having a lot of trouble getting this off using the instructions off the FAQ using the method with the oxygen sensor socket. I broke all the bolts free with no problem, but this.... I thought this was supposed to be the easy part? I can get the second sensor off, since it's located in a better position. If I try the method where I pop off the connections from the top of the engine, do I have to do both? Are both of them connected? And which one do I pop off for the 1st (The one farthest from the cat)?

Nevermind. I got it with a 22mm wrench instead of the 02 socket.
