Shift boot installation?

Anyone know where there is a write up with pics on this? My current shift boot just "hangs" there...I mean it isnt attached at the base to the center console and I cant figure out where I am supposed to attach it. It is some cheapy aftermarket boot that came with the car and I finally have some free time to see if I can fix it. I can see whats under the boot...stained carpet (looks like Hi-c), dirt, grime, etc. Help!

http://www.redlinegoods.com/MaximaA32install.shtm this should help, but if you dont have the stock metal rod in the new boot you may need to make one.

Is it like a round metal thing...There is this round metal peice that is at the base of the boot. I didnt know what to do with it so I left it alone.

From: CA
that metal wire rectangle is supposed to be in the bottom of the boot and it snaps into the clips that are under the shifter trim.
