95/96 to 97/99 front end conversion

I want to the the conversion on my 95 maxima (dark green). I already ordered the bumper (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...tem=2451384266) and the grille (http://www.carpartswholesale.com/cgi...N&model=MAXIMA). Can I go without changing the headlights, will everything fit fine. Besides, fogs, what else will I have to change? Let me know if ya'll have any front end parts (97-99) for sale too.

you should've tried to find used OEM stuff. Those aftermarket front bumpers don't fit like OEM. At the bottom of the bumper where it meets each fender stick out a little bit on mine. not too noticeable.

dont order grill.i think the 97-99 grill is uglier than the 95-99 but the 97-99 bumper is definately better. thats all IMO

here's some fact for 95-96 convertion to 97-99:

1. you can change to 97-99 grill without changing to 97-99 bumper
2. you can use 95-96 headlights on a 97-99 front end
3. you can change to 97-99 front bumper without changing to 97-99 grill

IMO for those who has 95-96, don't waste time and $$ on the convertion. check out gtr_rider's(luke's) grill-tech racing grill on his superblack 95 GXE. IMO it looks hot, nice and clean, saves $$ and time, plug and play.

Are you sure about the grills? They are different, I don't think they fit right without the correct bumper under it. I've never directly tried so I don't know 100%....

Have you?

do any of you doing the conversion have a 95/96 passenger-side foglamp (with the mounting brackets) you're willing to part with?

Well, unless you have an OEM bumper cover I would definately use a core support and the new foam because aftermaket bumpers will break a lot easier without any support behind them.

I dont think any of them that have done the conversion replaced the core support, just the bumper cover, grill for some, and lights if they wanted to.

Well, whatever then. I swapped everything grille, bumper, fogs, headlights, core support and sytrofoam support.

Yeah, but do you use aftermarket bumpers? If so, I guess they're better quality than the ones I get....
