knock sensor changed, now bigger problem.

Well I changed my knock sensor the hard way by taking off the upper and lower intake manifolds. When I took the manifold off I had to cut a couple of coolant lines. I replaced the coolant lines and I put everything back together. Well when I started my car it died, I was like okay maybe it takes a couple of tries since I took the whole manifold off. Well I started it again and I put my foot on the gas and it starts burbling and then it dies unless I put even more pressure on the accelerator. It keeps making a gurgling sound and the car shakes alot more than it did at startup. I can't keep the car on more than 10 seconds and I am leeking coolant somewhere. Also on the stock airbox there are two big hoses and one small hose that connect to the airbox. I do not have the small one connected and I have no idead where that hose is, is it important to the idol of the car, has anyone had the same problem before?

Why the heck would you remove the manifold to change the knock sensor??????????

Talk about unnecessary, wow....

I'd be willing to bet that's your problem right there. Go get some hose at the auto parts store and hook it up, I bet the car idles fine after that.

Replace the hoses and make sure they're clamped on tightly. The hoses that hook up to the Air Box will effect the cars idle. The car will fail to idle if the big hose that connects to the airbox (which is closest to the firewall) isn't plugged in properly or not plugged in at all.

I am going to try to fix tomorrow, I would do it right now but I rather do it right and not stick like a coolant line in my intake.

its most likely a vaccum leak on the hoses some where. my guess is you didnt connect the big hoses. thats will cause similar problems, def connect that short hose

I removed the manifold with bolts, it actually is not that hard, take probally 3 hours to take off if it is first time, and 45 minutes to put back on.

Dont ever change your knock sensor the easy way...once you see how you could have done it, you'll wanna hang yourself for doing it the way you did

I changed my Knock Sensor today without taking out the intake manifolds. It took 15 minutes. Sorry to hear about your problem.

No I have the two big ones connected I don't know where the small one is....... I had cut some stubborn cords to take the manifold off. I see where coolant is leaking. I ordered a porting kit for my manifolds, hehe I'll have to take them off again, lets see what gains I get.

Cords you cut cords??? Oh my i hope they werent important electrical cords. Did you accidently take the manifold gasket off and not put it back on sounds like you got an air intake leak with all the gurggling as well. Vacuum is a reasonable explanation as well.

No I did not cut any electrical cords. I put gaskets back on with gasket seal also. I know it is one of those hoses. Can someone please take a picture of where the hose to the midpipe coems from.
