advice on my 96 maxima

Hi everyone! This is my first post on the org. Im 19 and i just bought my first car(96 maxima) 3 months ago. It has an auto tranny. I am thinking on getting a CAI system for it but since it's auto, will it improve anything? If so, wut would be the benifits? Other suggestions are welcome.

Welcome to the org! Be sure to check out the NE forum frequently, as we have lots of meets...

A CAI system is actually IDEAL for an automatic, due to the fact that it supplies the most low end power, which is what an auto lacks in the most.

You would see some increase throttle response and somewhere around 5ish hp depending on intake... and a hella ****ed off growl at wide open throttle!

again, welcome, enjoy your stay

i've heard the BOMZ isnt too bad...you can get it from procarparts.com or ebay, and it should run you about 50 on ebay, and 80 at procarparts...the place racing and injen cold air intakes all run in the 200 range

After you get the intake, save up some money for a Y-pipe. The intake gets the air in faster , the y-pipe gets the exhaust gasses out faster, they make a nice combo. Budget's pipe is about $180 or so, and you will feel the difference with this mod. Welcome to the Org .
