Water pump

Does any one know how much it cost to have the water pump replaced? Part and labor?

Thanks,
Sam

I looked around and the cheapest I found was $250 or so. I got worried when they began asking if I had a timing belt, and then asking me if I was sure. I read many threads on the nightmares people had with shops that did something wrong. I then decided to go to the dealer. The first dealer wanted $700, the next dealer wanted $550 so I went with them. Not cheap, but have not had any issues or noises. There was another dealer that quoted me $425, but I do not trust their work due to a previous experience with them.

Just got my car back from the dealer Friday for Waterpump, $560, but they also replaced my drive belts and a crankcase seal, as well as changing my oil. Not fun, but gotta do whatcha gotta do.

Was you accord a 4 banger? These have more room to work around the engine bay, perhaps reducing time required, as opposed to the jammed VQ30DE.

Don't feel bad, I did my research before I had it changed. The water pump for this car is driven directly by the timing chain, and you have to mess with the chain and take off the right motor mount to get to it. The OEM pump was $100 dollars, the labor $450. I was going to tackle this myself, but after reading many threads on the subject, and from several people's advice here on the Org I decided against it. I did find places to do it for around $250 (total price) give or take 10 bucks, but after reading the threads on how people went to shops that probably were not all that familiar with our cars and ended up having problems, I said forget it . Several of the shops that I called made me very nervous about letting them work on my car, I called quite a few. Like I said earlier, this one shop at first asked me if I had a timing belt, then began telling me that I did . For something like this I would rather pay more and get it done right the first time. I have not had any problems since, I think since April
