poll: body color pillars vs. stock
poll: body color pillars vs. stock
just want some opinions or pics if you have any. just seems like an easy mod to do myself for a lil more custom look if i so desire. i got a White 97 GXE (chrome door handels) everything stock....in case that sways ur opinions. thanx for the input
Well IMO stock. Just look at the economy type cars out there. The base trim for a some car models (for example take a look at the Toyota Corolla and Matrix) usually come with body colored door pillars/frames, whereas the "deluxe" version usually have a matte finish. I know its all taste but why visually break the "greenhouse" with color ; it makes the pillars stand out like a sore thumb... especially if you have tint. The whole point of them being black is to clean up the profile.
Also to some people (like myself) will think your car was repainted and the body shop was careless in masking the proper areas before painting.

if u have dark color.. black, or dark emerald, then body color..
if you have a lighter color.. keep the stock tape on there. or if the tape is worn and ugly.. paint it black..
medium colored cars.. i duno.. its your call. but yeah. i dont like it on white, or the pebble beige. IMO.. to all their own though.
mine are body colored

The door pillars look stock good when the max that you own is a dark color. Other than that, the closer you're max is to a lighter color you should probably tear off those door pillars. They looked ugly on lighter maximas.
I've got pebble beige with body color, I'm happy with it. I think it would look good on white too, I saw one like that and it looked really nice. With tints it might not be quite as great because there will be so much contrast. Just my thoughts.
not sure if the 7 year old paint that has not faded at all (the pillar) will match the rest of the car--take that into consideration, its kind of like shaving it. thats what stopped me from doing it. i saw a big outline from MAXIMA when i shaved my trunk

Kinda like this.......

body color all the way!!!
and i can say for sure that the paint underneath matches seeing as how my '95 max has been in AZ all its life and has seen more sun than most other cars. but the sun did take its toll on those stupid stickers, which were a real b!tch to get off
