wipers problem...

I have a 97 maxima gxe i think, though not sure. I got one of those wiper switches where you can also turn it to change the speed. A few days ago i took my wipers off to paint them, and when i put them back on they stopped working right. The wipers stopped working in the int position, and when i do the wash thing, but they still work in the medium and fast position. I was wondering if you guys could help me out with this. Thanks alot!

what color did you paint them? please tell me black...

so what did you do to the car? just remove the wiper arms and paint them? that's it? if you didn't do anything to the wiper motor at all, then it's probably just a coincidence that they stopped working at the same time. it could be the contacts on the switch

well the paint started to crack on them, so i sanded and repainted them black. I was gonna do some neon green, yellow or pink, cuz that would look HOT on my black car, but than i decided that i'll do that once my washers with leds that i ordered from ebay come in. j/k When i was putting the wipers in i might have twisted the bolt alittle, do you thing that could have broke the motor or something?

LOL oh man you had me for a few sentences there

I don't know *too* much about this kind of stuff (somebody else wanna pitch in) but I don't think you can tighten down the wiper arm too much. I think it might just be a coincidental problem
