Ignition Key programming-99 SE

I have a 99 Max SE and had to get two new ignition keys. Is there a way for me to program those keys without paying the dealer to do it for me? I have one remote.

(Basically one key got lost with it's remote the other key broke).

I saw instructions on programing a new remote control, but not the actual key itself. Can this be a DIY?

no you cant.. you need nissan consult and the key code to progman the chip key... sorry you have to pay the dealer oh and the key code is 5523 That code will work on cars up to 2003 I believe, any year after that you need to get a number of the bcm and do a code generator on the Nissan computer

$ 60 is not that bad...when you take in consideration that the key itself costs $ 40 . When I had a 99 I got a figure of $ 110 for one key...
