installation fee for springs, shocks, dustboots, camber kit, and wheel alignment.

I called two local places and they both said $230 on installation alone. Is this a reasonable price? Personally, I'd rather install them myself, but last time I attempted, the nuts in the center of the strut mount wouldn't come off. When I try to unscrew it, the whole strut spins with it. Anyone got anything that can remedy this? Please help me out~! Thanx~!

don't remove the center nut with out a spring compressor on the spring....or you may get hurt when the spring trys to shoot out.....once the spring comprssor is installed an impact wrench makes short work of the center nut....btw most shops will charge 4-6hrs to install the suspension plus the alignment....my dealership would be 6hrsx$70 and $70 for the alignment....so $230 is not bad if you don't have the tools and place to do the install yourself...

you can loosen the nut a little while the struts are on the car, then it'll be easier to take off. or use pliers and hold the middle piece while loosening the nut. worked for me.

installation for struts and springs only at meineke was $320....then $55 for alignment at a tire shop so your price is a good deal from my perspective.

hmm...think I've tried this already but it was on so strong that the other wrench holding it didn't hold. But I think I'm gonna try an impact wrench. Can I rent these from somewhere like Kragen or Pep Boys. I kno I can get Spring Compressors there.

Had a shop do it for $150 and paid $60 for an alignment at Pep Boys (need to go back and have it realigned before the warranty is gone since the car goes to the left )
