Crank seal Leaking/CV Boot ripped--> Please L@@k

My crank shaft pulley is leaking. What do I do?
A)replace just the seal
b) replace the pulley and the seal

Some people say to replace everyhting But that damn pulley is expensive and I think I should just try the seal 1st.

My CV boot is ripped So i will be changing the whole axle. When the axle comes out of the tranny What seals do I need to change because I dont want that sh*t to start leaking after its put back together.

Thank you

Are you doing the work yourself, having a dealer do it, or a private shop? You can get a UDP installed with a new seal for less than $260 at most places ($160 for Motostorm UDP and all parts needed).

If you are having the dealer do it, I would have them order the pulley, then ask the mechanic to inspect yours when it is off and the new seal is being put in. If he tells you (and it must be him, not the service manager) that it needs to be replaced, replace it.

Private shop will do it. Its cheap labor cause there is nothing to do. I would change it myself but its cold as brick here.

And It has to be a stock pulley.
