Well I just did the lateral acceleration measurement, and with koni shox, eibach springs , Addco RSB, and Potenza RE730's (225/50X16),
the 99 SE-L registered...

.84 (around 30mph in first gear, about 1-1.5 turns on the steering wheel)

.86 (a slightly larger circle in second gear, I was getting some oversteer because of the RSB)

I seriously started to get dizzy. Each time around I did about 8 to 10 circles, and really couldn't go any more... but by then, the speed had built up to a point where the tires were starting to slip anyway.

Now then, anybody know where to do a 1/4 mile test here in central Texas (pref. Austin)

Thanks,

jd

Those are pretty good numbers for a 4-door grocery-getter. What air pressure were you running? Did you find it difficult to set up the bracket for lateral acceleration?

I didn't mess with the pressure at all...

so it must have been around 35psi... I don't check it that often. I thought the sideways mounting would be a pain in the **** too, but it was very simple and just took a couple tiny adjustments to zero it out.

Guys I looked in the latest Road & track, and the 5th gen stock SE does .81g!!!!!

some other numbers for comparison...
Taurus SE: .75g
Galant ES: .77g
Civic SI: .82g
BMW 330Ci: .85g
911 Turbo: .91g
Corvette Z06: 1.00g
2000 Jaguar R1 formula 1 racer: 4.30g
