Smelling gas fumes in car - NEED HELP ASAP

Hi All,

Recently I have been smelling fumes in my car when the heat is on and when it is not! I have also noticed a small puddle under the front pasenger side of car!

Has anyone else experience this problem and would KNOW the symptoms!
How much would it COST to fix this problem as well!

If anyone knows please HELP me out ASAP!

Thanks

If it's gas, check your fuel injectors. I had a Sentra and an injector went out. Whenever I started the car, I would smell the fuel, I to replace the injector.

When I had my 87 Maxima the injectors leaked - it was on a recall.

Try sniffing around the car or tracing the drip under the car. When gasoline drys it leaves it's oil based film that is visible.

And check it out ASAP!

Gas fumes + electrical spark = ***POOF***

Good luck.

My old 91 Maxima had a leaking gas tank. It doesn't literally drip, but the underside of the gas tank was always wet and smelled like gas.

Sometimes I have the gas smell too when I turn on the heater and the engine bay air comes in. I'll probably check the injectors when the weather gets better. The CEL isn't on so I don't know which injector. I did have a plug that was wet when I changed my plugs last summer. I think my injector is sticking since the car runs better when I put in a fuel system cleaner in the tank.
