You mean it looks ricer. Convert to 5spd then chop it. So you gonna short shift your max when you toasting civics. Thats good for .5 in the 1/4.

Auto's cant have short shifters, cause you cant manually shift thru the gears, u need a manual to get a short shift

Cot damn.. all you people and your "rice"! Some things look classy, doesn't mean its rice. Just like your subs, clears, and fogs broaner22 - I'm sure they are a nice addition to your car but if they're not going to make you faster! I have a shortened auto shifter, I think it looks nice - like the new BMW shifters. Would you call their shifters rice?

The **** is an Ichibahn Cruz auto in black leather. Very, very nice quality and high-class shift **** for the money ($65-$70). It does NOT have an overdrive button though, so you will either have to sacrafice that feature or make a switch for it (very easy, I did this myself and it took about 20 min).

The shift **** is currently from www.jujeracing.com, it is a 5spd Maxima boot. What I recommend to you is to buy a 5spd Maxima shifter plate and boot, that is what I am im the process of doing now. It will look nice and the boot will fit better. That will run you abotu $70 new, probably $40 used.

Take a dremel and you can cut both the outer shifter rod and inner ones (you will know what I mean when you take off the factory ****). I cut off about .5" just because I wasn't sure how it would look, but now that I know I will cut off another 1".

Did he say $4500 just for the transmission, with 170K miles on it. No way man. You can get a used 5 speed tranny for about $400-500, that is decent in mileage. You just have to look.

If you have the money to buy a 2nd car, insure it, and maintain it. . . then go for it, it would be cool to have a stick beater max that you can learn stick on and maybe even sell your GLE if its a really solid car.

my first car was a stick, and when i bought my max i looked for a stick but found out 5sp maxs are rare in my area. I was actually thinking of selling my max to come up with the money to buy the 5sp but the mileage makes me afraid, The car the dude wants to sell me look good but i just wonder if i should keep looking for another 5sp or take his offer.

That will have to wait for after new wheels thanks for the info tho.

MAX2NV are you gonna install just the **** or the gate surround thing too? One of the main gripes I have about our 4th gen interiors is the whole shifter area looks cheap...wish I could swap in a 5th gen shifter or something.

No....the smaller center rod is what unlocks/locks. As long as it's fully extended when the button is not pressed, it will be locked.
