loud ticking noise from throttlebody

Hi Guys,

My 95 max has been ticking like an old grandfather clock for the past few days. Its source is right behind the throttle body. This is an assembly which is mounted onto the TB has 3 or 4 plugs on it from sensors.Sorry i can't describe it more clearly but i think you smart guys can figure it out!

I am pretty sure about the source of this noise.

thanks,
Jay

Are you talking about this part? This is the IACV (idle air control valve).

Most people in the org have had this problem. Remove and disassemble the IACV using this method (post #2). I just did this yesterday and cleaned the whole valve thoroughly and the ticking went away momentarily but came back but not as loud as it used to.

After you do that the problem will still probably be there. I did this maybe a month ago and the car did seem to be better all around. However there was still this ticking/grinding sound and it was the TPS, black thing on the TB, so you might want to test this also.
