Re: New to the 4th Gen

Just picked up my 96' Black/black SE 5spd that I got off ebay. I had a 2000 se and traded it in on a grocery getter for the wife, now I'm back in action with another max but a 5spd this time, much better. Just wanted say hello. More to come....

Believe it or not, I think I like the 96' better because it is a 5spd, the 2000 was an AT. The 2000 had black leather and I just scored a nice set black leather seats from a salvaged 97'. The 2000 was pearl in color and the 96' will probably be much harder to keep clean.

I have several small items to fix on the 96' such power antenna, hood lifts, and torn shift\ebrake boots. Then it will time to mod. Oh, below are the details...

1996 Maxima SE
Black\black
5spd
131,000 miles
$3800

Interior - excellent
Exterior - great, few dings, needs a good wax
Engine - purrs like a kitten, strong

I will have a full set of charcoal cloth seats front\rear for sale starting tomorrow if anyone is interested. Just upgraded to leather.

You're an old man like me Maximum, I too graduated in '93.

Welcome Vortex. Good luck with your new purchase (p.s. it's a '96, not a 96' )

Yeah...I installed them today but they do not have power. I verified that there is no power coming from the wire. All fuses are good. What should I check next? The original seats were manual now I have driver\passenger leather electric.

not sure but plugs for the elec seats should be under the rug
tho ! just my guess since most off the upgrades are plug &play

Yes, the plugs are there. However, they have no power so when hooked up the seats do not work. I tested the wire coming from the car and it is not hot. Thought it might be a blown fuse, but nope. Any suggestions?

did they work when you bought them ?did you check all the relay's
one of them maybe for the interior or the plugs are not making contact,
see if you can follow the cable back and see if their cut or something

Welcome, good choice on the 96 Black is the hardest to keep clean, but my pearl white is more difficult than my old champagne colored camry and gets and stays dirty EVERY SINGLE time it rains.
