Where can I get the tape to make my moldins black

Ok, here is the deal. I have a 96 GLE that has chrome door handles and moldings around the windows that are chrome also. When you look at SE modles of a Maxima, they have painted door handles to match the body color and the moldings are black. I will paint the door handles but what about the door moldings. I heard that people buy tape that goes over it. Where can I get it?

I just has my car painted too and am trying to find out the exact same thing. I hate that chrome on the weather stripping. I didn't know that there was a special kind of tape that people use to cover it up. I was going to go have my whole weather stripping re-dun. Sorry I can't be of more help but good post though and I'll let you know if I find out anything.

I used it on my chrome GXE grill. Boy, did I not like that thing. But, before I did it I ws unsure about the commitment with painting it so I found that tape and now it looks like matte black. Looks really nice.

I've had it on 3 months now and it seems to be holding up well.

You can order the precut tape for your door from your local dealer. It should run about 15 bucks.

I have a gxe and used Blackout tape and it came out better than I expected. Although installing it is not that hard but time consuming, when installing it, you have to make sure the tape fits in every crease to avoid bubbles. I had mine on for around 3 months now and its holding up pretty well even through rain and snow.
