Check your fuel lines underneath the hood. Might be the rubber fuel lines going to the fuel filter located in the middle on the firewall right infront of the windshield. Give that a try first. If not then see if you have any fuel leaking underneath the car after parking overnite. This will at least pinpoint where you might have a fuel leak. Good luck and let us know how things turned out.

might be a sign of your injectors going bad.

I agree with the last caller, probably your injectors leaking. Stick your nose in the engine compartment above the injectors and see if you smell gas. If not, possible plugged canisters?. You don't have an open jerry can in the back do you

Someone in another thread said that the o-rings might need to be changed or that a fuel injector is dying. I have the fuel smell too and I'm going to replace the o-rings for the front injectors when the weather gets better.

I think my fuel injectors are sticking since the car runs better with fuel injector stuff in the tank

Gas smell on cold mornings first start of the day is often due to fuel injector o rings shrinking in the cold and letting fumes/gas out. Other causes could be fuel line leak, fuel filter leak or fuel tank leak. Also the evaporative containers with charcoal in them could be old or broken, which can cause a fuel odor.
