Help! My Parking Brake light stays on!

hey all
just these past few weeks my parking brake light will stay on while im driving after i take the parking brake off. Has anyone else had this problem or knows what is wrong? I dont want to take it to the dealership yet because i might get ripped so just checking to see if anyone knows what is wrong.

Your brake pads are worn and it's causing the master cylinder fluid to be low.

That light comes on if fluid is low, and/or if pressure is low. I had a loose bolt on my passenger front caliper. The mechanic tightened it up, added some fluid and it was back to normal. Make sure there aren't any leaks in the system. Unless you're a mechanic, you might want to take it to a professional. Brakes are usually cheap. Autotire is the cheapest place I have found to do jobs such as this. I know the manager and he has hooked me and my friends up multiple times. He over-charged me $20 for an alignment(4-wheel and the maxima can only be aligned in the front), so the hour of labor plus parts for the above mentioned brake job was free due to this mistake. It's nice to get straight service from a mechanic for a change.
