cattman headers. Just because EBAY doesn't have it it doesn't mean they don't exist.

I have heard that the ones out there are not significantly better than stock, but cost waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay more.

header = the first exhaust component coming out of the engine
y-pipe = downpipe, between header and catalytic converter

therefore y-pipe is not the header on maxima. aftermarket y-pipe gives the best NA gain because it gets rid of the restrictive stock pre-cat, and allow the exhaust system to flow better, therefore more HP.

One of these days someone will test their car with the y-pipe and then install Cattman headers and redyno. Only then will we know if these things are worth the cash.

I changed out my engine mounts last week and I noticed there is a ton more access to the rear exhaust manifold once you drop cross member and F/R mounts.

You see the 5th gen forum thread on the hotshot headers? I don't see why they won't fit the 3.0 because guys got the cattman ones to fit the 3.5. They look like the same design as the cattman ones....

I agree with you I30tMikeD. If they don't fit, stillen could very easily develop some to fit the 3.0 head. Most of the work is already done. Just different bolt placement?

headers on a na maxima are pointless. how many times must this be said. shorty headers don't do squat and cost an arm and a leg to install.

1. I am not talking about shorty headers.

2. There is no dyno's between cattman headers and a Y-pipe yet. Hotshot headers have yet to see a dyno at all ......so the jury is still out on both.

3. The install does not need to be paid for. It really is not all that bad once you drop the cross member.

4. I still there could be gains to be seen for a VI and raised rev set up, but won't know until someone dyno's.
