would this ECU swap work with no problems?

Hi All,
I am thinking about swapping a 98 5-speed SE ECU into my 98 5-speed GXE. The reason I want to do this is to eliminate the speed limiter. Is this a straight foward swap, or are there any precautions I should take? Will this even work in helping me acheive what I want to do?

I am trying to avoid splicing my harness to get rid of the limiter, as per mzmtg's instructions, mainly because I would like to retain the speedo readings when going past the limiter.

Thanks

How much do those run? Is it really worth it? You might just want to get a Jim Wolf Technlogies ECU if you plan on ever getting VI.

It will work without a problem, however you are misinformed as to the fact that you will lose your speedometer when when you break the connection (like if you put a switch on the wire that mzmtg describes). Your speedometer will still work just fine. I've had mine on a switch for years.

I believe they are fairly cheap used from wreckers.

Really? Hmm...this really makes me re-think my plan. Does anyone have the sprintmax writeup with the pics? I cannot seem to find it!
