best N/A mods???

I already have a y pipe and short ram intake. Im planning on gettting OBX type h catback. I was just wondering what other n/a performance mods could i do that are actually worth the money? bigger fuel injectors??

I don't have **** but if I was you I would get technosquare ECU (lol I don't even know if it works on 97, but I think it does), since catback doesn't do jack $hit except the loud exhaust.

Add a MEVI/JWT ECU, and maybe a pulley(dont have one so I cant say it does or doesnt help)

Don't do that, it wont help performance, and if it does, will be very minimal. Not worth the money.

What's up dude, you live right by me. I live in kalamazoo (WMU student). My mom lives in grand rapids, and my sister goes to GVSU. When I saw your name MaxGR I wondered if it was grand rapids and I was right.

Anyhow forget the fuel injectors... waste of time and money.

There are two routes you can take if you are serious about N/A performance, which will dictate what mods you buy next. They are:

1) MEVI. MEVI is the intake manifold off of the Maxima available in the Middle East (you know, Iraq and such). Anyhow, the MEVI sacrifices some mid range torque but gives high RPM power. It will cost you about $650 if you can install it yourself (its not hard, and I'd be willing to help once it gets warmer if you like, I've installed two already). If you decide to go this route then you will want to get a JWT ECU because only the JWT at this point has a rev limiter higher than stock, which is crucial with the MEVI since it gives such a great high RPM gain. JWT ECU will run you about $600. Total cost for both would be around $1250, but trust me, your car will be significantly faster than any other Maxima around, except mine

2) If you decide MEVI is not what you want, then I would suggest the Technosquare ECU (if you see reference to the G-Force ECU, know that they are the SAME company. Technosquare = G-Force, they just changed names). With the stock intake manifold and a Technosquare ECU you would have tons of torque, great for drag racing, but less top end power than a maxima with MEVI and JWT ECU. The Technosquare ECU is around $400, and it does NOT raise the rev limiter, just so we're clear on that.

Other small mods I would consider would be UDP, and if you need a new clutch soon consider a lightened flywheel at the same time. But these mods are not as crucial as the ECU and MEVI are.

Anyhow hit me up if you have any further questions. There's not a whole lot of Maximas around here that are modded, only a few.

BTW have you ever taken your car to US-131 Speedway in Martin (it's like 20 minutes south of you.) I'm there pretty much every week in the summer.

Also don't forget to hit up the Upper Midwest forum to find out about local meets going on, race days, help with parts installs, etc. Everyone there is really cool and we actually have some of the fastest maximas in the country right in our region.

Hey man. Courtesy is selling em for 379 with cover minus install parts like the switch and so on. They haven't been 600 for a while now. Just letting you know.

Add switch, $50. Vacuum canister, hoses, fittings, ~$30. New gaskets all the way around, probably $25. Solenoid anywhere from free to probably $25. It's been a long time since I installed one so I don't know if I'm remembering everything. Anyhow my point is that when all is said and done you are going to be paying more than $379, also you have to factor in shipping which will most likely be another $25 . So theres about $150 additional right there. $650 seems to be higher than they are going for now, but it's still quite a bit more than $379 once all is said and done.

Ok so kalamazoo guy (forgot your login name) both of the mods you listed are basically getting a racing chip in a way??? that was one that i was thinking, but im not good w/ ECU and how it runs, so id need to ask you a bunch of questions. so your saying catback is not worth $300??? but i only have about $800 to spend on the mod, so those are a little pricey. btw i dont get my liscense til august, so i wont start modding till then, they ypipe and intake were already on. thx 4 the help

if you're auto, switch to 5 speed. that makes a big difference. Also, lighter rims help.
