you have to melt the casing to take it apart but people paint them for the outside cause the orange part is part of the case and if you paint the inside of the light, the amber will still show because it is glued to the casing.

thats on 97+ models
for 95-96 the outer lens actually is amber. no way to take it out, just have to paint over it.

now here is an idea i had: what if you took your alteezas and painted the outside lens with the same Testors paint you would use to paint your stock tails? i know there is the problem of the reverse light and how legal it would be and all, but i would like to see how that would look... so anyone got a set of Alteezas sitting around and willing to experiment with them?

hmm good idea, i dunno if i want to ruin them, cause i was thinking of either matching the outside to the body color, or taking them apart and painting the chrome black like the car... or in primer... But i just wanted a quick fix it while im doing that. What do you guys think, paint the altezzas the body color, paint the chrom inside body color, or try that candy red idea on the altezzas. Someone have good photoshop skills ?

95-96 tailights also come apart but you cannot remove the reflector from them causeit is part of the outer casing. but you could disasamble them if you wanted too.

so what are you mean is that paint the outside of the altezzas read?
