yes, after taking a second look, I slapped myself on the forehead and then proceeded to remove the grill

 

There are two tabs on the top left and right of the grill. Pop the hood and just press down on the tabs with a flathead screw driver and pull them out one at a time. Should take you less than a minute to remove the grill.
