well,
Actually, I bought them of Hendry (another orger) for 280 shipped. While this IS ridiculously expensive, it's less than the 350 without shipping on ebay, and I actually really like them! Regardless, the way it looks, prices are just going to rise unless some manufacturer mass produces them which has not happened in many years. So if I get sick of them, which I don't think I will, I will just sell them at a profit .

Also, I plan on having the car for many more years so I figure the cost can be spread out over the years in terms of years of enjoyment.

Lastly, in a sick and twisted way, (and this is the minor reason for me), it's fun having something that 80% of 95,96 maxes don't have.

Install pics when it gets warmer. My god it's cold in Albany!!!

i'm happy with my $41 gen 1 carbon fiber altezza, not to mention it's DOT approved and got rid of the ugly orange tail.

yea yea ricer i know i am but i try to keep a well balance from rice to performance to suspension... so yea whatever i like it.

Damn, I cant believe how much nicer it is with the max, you think 95/96 tails are expensive right now? Try getting red/clear tails for a 1st gen TL, the cheapest I could find was around $400, its usually in the $450-500 range on sites.

But again, these were imported from japan, but still, with as rare as they are, they do hold value.

I would hate to see any of you, 95/96ers with red/clear tails, get rear ended. Cuz that would mean bye bye red/clears since it is a rare and pricey item to get.

hee hee,
thanks for the official david L welcome guys! I really want to install them today but it's so cold out (and snowing) so I have to wait till it gets nicer. That and I have a medicine exam next Friday so i can't spend too much time yet.

btw, they look badass on all your cars! Glad I can be a part of it soon!

Just stating the facts of life: "anything can happen at any given time". Noone is going to be driving up behind you and say: " Oh no, red/clear tails....I don't want to plow into it because its so pretty! I'm going to swerve around it and hit a median instead."

that's like me saying, "well hey, I would hate to see you get cancer!!"

nobody wants to hear **** like that, it just pisses people off, why bother saying it?

edit: and I'm not over reacting, because my friend rear ended me yesterday, probably about five hours after you posted that. bad karma, man.

I was behind a shiny beige 4th gen today (probably a GXE since I couldn't see anything else but the tailend w/o the spoiler). The entire tail lenses are smoked dark. The ambers are still there but everything looks nice because of the dark tint. It's a very good alternative to the red/clear style. I like it very much and I'll probably do it instead.

mchne, sorry for the bad luck man!

LoL, $175, almost 2 years ago in a DAvidL group deal, best investment I ever made. Over 150% return if I want to sell them, you can't do that in the stock market.

First, looking at your page, I see no all reds (except for a square of white)

Second, to make all reds, you would have to either buy all reds or buy all clears, unless you have a 97-99, so shut up

third, who cares... dude bought some lights, they look good.. why do you feel the need to be an ***hole??

first: that is my old car and it's an Infinti I30 not a maxima. i haven't updated my page because i work to much.

second: i have a 95 and to make all reds all you hafta do is spray testors candy red over them until they become all red until the clear and orange matches then clear coat them. i'm not trying to fight with anyone one this forum so there is no need to tell me to shut up

third: yes he did buy some lights and i completly agree that they look great. but in my opinion that is to much for taillights. i paid $2.80 instead of $280. so why i'm i an A$$hole for having an opinion

peace

Isaac

Welcome to the club...

Mine cost me $120, 2 years ago...it was actually David L's last set of red/clears...If I knew better I would have bought all 10 of his last set.

Yeah red clears for 95-96 come expensive. They look good but since I got no money for that I just painted them, but if I did I would go for red clears. Either way it looks better then orange red and white.

well, those are definitely not FX wheels... the car looks like some volvo derivative with those high taillights, but i dont recognise it... then again i dont pay much attention to volvos.

They aren't FX Wheels.. they are Infiniti Wheels and that station waggon would eat any volvo alive..

its basically a Skyline Station Waggon..

to keep to the who red/clear thing.. i bought mine for $175 back in 98 .. and i sold them for $200 in 99
