I feel like a ...

well ... my Maxi was really dirty so I decided to take her to the car wash ... and I totoally forget that even when I'm playing a cd, the antenne is still up .... so yeah, you guys can figure it out from there ...

So, it's stuck in the up position and broken near the bottom :-( (yes, I'm an idiot, I know) How do you take the power antenne off so that I can replace it with a new one (which I'm going out to buy right after I finish typing this)? thanks for any help you guys can give ... I have just one request, help me fix this BEFORE you make fun of me.

that much suck. i don't know where to get the replacement but ...
I think this is your chance to make a switch for the antenna so that it won't go up everytime you use your cd player.
i find that annoying on my setup. i have a pioneer HU and the antenna always goes up even if i use the cd player... it's A N N O Y I N G

Mine only went up when listening to the radio, even with the old BOSE. Now with the Clarion HU it still only goes up while listening to the radio. To take it out you just remove the panels in the trunk and it's there, next to the jack and the tools. You can buy a replacement on ebay if you want, $50 or so.

my dad was driving my max one day, decided to get that free car wash after a fill up of gas, knocked my antenna right off as well. I got it repaired, and not for much either. now its fully functional, but sticks up an inch or so when its in the "down position." i am going to start looking for a replacement

I tried fiddling around with it ... I took off the chrome ring thigny and the black plastic cover thingy (both on the outside), but the darn thing just wont come out!! I just checked in the haynes manual (I also just remembered that I had one, hehe) and I did what they said, but man I'll tell ya ... the mast is stuck in there like no other! and I have no idea how to get it out (I believe that is the only thing broken, the motor seems fine)?! Thank fully, I somehow managed to get the mast down so now you only see about 3inches of the antenna, I also disconnected the motor in the back so that it doesn't go up (nor down) anymore ... any ideas on how to get the mast out? Or should I take it to the dealership and have em fix it? (@ Fergus nissan I think they said min $45 per 1/2 hour + parts ... blah blah blah) :-(
