My car came with a power driver's seat and manual passenger seat. This afternoon I took out the passenger seat to install a leather power seat in it's place and I can't find the wiring harness connector under the seat or center console. I'd like to use the factory designated lines to connect the seat. The seat I am installing (out of a 97 Maxima) has a yellow/black and a black/silver lead connected to it which is about 1 foot long. I suppose this is the wire which is to be connected to the harness but I cannot find these color wires in the harness passing under the passenger seat or under the console. Are these wires located under the driver's seat or elsewhere?

Thanks in advance.

I had the seats out of my '95 GLE a couple of weeks ago. I have a power driver's seat with a manual passenger seat. I noticed that the only wiring I had under the passenger seat was for the heating option; there were no wires for power. I'm not sure, but I don't think the power passenger seat was available in '95.

On the driver's seat, I'll bet two wires are for power and two are for the seat belt warning. My power seat works without a key in the ignition; seems like all you have to do is run a fused wire to an always hot power source and another wire to ground.

Thanks, I guess I'll have to to into another line and ground it. If I connect it to the same line as the driver's seat should I still fuse it?

That's a great idea to just tie it in to the driver's seat. The circuit is already sized and fused for the motor. If you don't allow the passenger to adjust the seat at the same time the driver is adjusting his, you shouldn't have a problem. No need to add another fuse because the existing one will protect the entire circuit, including the new wires.

BTW, since the motor probably reverses, you should tie BOTH wires in to the driver's seat harness.

I looked everywhere and couldn't find it; took out both seats and the console yesterday and tapped into the driver's seat harness under the carpet and ran the two wires under the carpet and came out under the passenger's seat where there was a cutout in the carpet for a wire to come through. Came out perfect and the seat works fine. Suppose I shouldn't use both electric seats at the same time just in case it might blow the fuse.

Power 97 Max seat

How much did you pay for the passenger seat you have and where did you get it from?

I purchased a set of black leather seats out of a wrecked car, just the two fronts both power and the rear seat, for $ 500 plus shipping from an auto recycler in Ohio; they were on ebay; shipping was 120 to FLA
