I know this has been talked about a lot but the thing is that...when it doesn't concern me, I don't really want to read it but now it does. I do 19 miles per gallon!! to my memory, some of you do like 24 miles per gallon. That's a big difference...what's wrong with my car?

It varies a lot depending on how I feel, how much the gaz price is, what time it is, where I am, well you get it, but I usually do 75 mph on highway and 50 mph on streets, sometimes faster, sometimes slower, but the 19 mpg is the average I get since a couple of months so it's a very good idea of the consomption of my car.

Do you have 5 speed or auto? When was your last tune up? Have you cleaned or replaced your air filter? Are your tires properly inflated? There are a lot of reason why your consumption could have went up. I would check the routine maintainence things first.

I drive fairly conservatively. 65-70 on the freeway to work and not very fast around town. I usually let it shift around 2000rpm in normal driving. This gets me about 23mpg per tank.

But, I know my car is in good tune. The plugs, sensors, fluids, filter, belts, etc are all fairly new and in proper order. Plus I keep track of my tire pressure weekly.

These are the things you have to do to maintian good mileage.

Get a y-pipe

I get like 14-16 MPG since it's cold (have to warm it up a lot and a lot of cold driving to school). I get like 17-18 MPG during the summer

I have an auto, I should maybe clean the air filter, been a year I changed it. What is included in the tune up? Sry, my english isn't very good so what exactly is a tune up?

Tuneup is like getting your engine back in shape by replacing the spark plugs, PCV valve, air filter, fuel filter, cleaning your TB, and so on... Read the "4th gen How-Tos" sticky at the top of the forum
