headlight problem
hey guys i need some help.. i got a 98 maxima about 4 or 5 months ago and i put xenon headlights in and they worked great but now the low beams dont work but the high beams do.. which is really confusing.. i figured id check the bulb to see if the filament was broken for the low beam but it seemed fine.. is there any chance that it could be a fuse or faulty wiring.. if anyone could help me out that would be great thanks..
It's because you bought cheapo bulbs. If you are lucky, the low beam filament burned out. If you are unlucky and bought higher than 55w bulbs you probably melted the wire harness.
But on the good hand, you now can get an aftermarket headlight harness which is be better than OEM. Use either PIAA or SilverStars. Crisp white color and very good visibility on dry nights. Use Narva 9004 weather bulb or a GE XTra vision bulb.

The OEM wattage is 45w/65w. Thats the highest that the factory harness can handle. If you want a higher wattage bulb (Higher than 45w/65w) I recommend you change the entire harness. Southwestautoworks.com has them for $15.
you might of burnt you harness, nd if ya did and you use you highbeams alot you might melt that as well. use piaa's they are suppose to be good. acually the best bulbs i ever used was ones from target from light glow. i loves those better than the piaa's. they were only like $12 i think to.
