air bag lamp--man Nissan is expensive to run
I guess I took it for granted because all the things that broke on my car were done under warranty. Literally, in 6 years, the only thing I paid for were 60k service and EVAP. But now that the car is not under warranty, I saw someone say airbag is $500+. What a bunch of BS, it's something that isn't used and it can't last 6 years without replacement? Do you really think that to be the best they can do, or rather is it the 60's idea of designed obsolecence? ie maintenance money for the dealerships?
I've reset the airbag computer 4 times, and each time, about 20 minutes later the flashing comes back. That tells me something is in fact wrong. I already replaced the pass side under warranty.
If you lease, all these things are of no consequence. But I strongly urge people not to buy a Nissan product new with the intention of keeping it a long time. You know something, maybe building their cars in MS will actually up the quality, because it sure was low with the cars coming from Japan.

3 options:
1)drive with it and deal
2)aftermarket steering wheel, ditch the airbag
3)undo the bulb in your dashboard
i have had no problem with the reliability of our 2 maximas...but i sense your ****ed off
