How much work does a max need to beat...

I was wondering how much work/mods a maxima would need to beat a Chevrolet Impala ss with a few upgrades so it has about 300 hp. What would be the best set up to beat one or be pretty close of a race with one? Thanks

New or old body style?
OLD
96 impala ss Assumed auto, runs

0-60: 7.3
1/4 Mile: 15.6

You should take that 5-spd and maybe hang auto STOCK
I dont know with his mods

NEW
Not sur what they run but have 240hp @5100rpms and a woppin 280ft/bs tq all 4spd autos
so... what kind of MINOR mods does he have?

I would think you would have to drop some decent cash to catch up.

well this is sort of 1/4 mile talk so I guess it should be in the 1/4 mile section. I saw a newer impala at the track last time running 16's so I guess a maxima wont have that much of a problem to beat that. The SS is very heavy but the engine can be modded to make some awesome power. If he has about 300HP then you should be running high 14's. It may take full exhaust, and intake to beat that
Do you know what times he runs?

IBTL....
Race threads are only allowed on weekends.
If his Impala is modded, I would think it would be hard for the Max to beat it.
96 Impala SS came with the LT1 350.
Yes, I know its heavy. But with some mods it should respond very nice but they are auto so a manual max should get him off the line.

I hardly ever see them run faster than high 14's at my track...most are in the 15's.
