Thanks Seafoam..I think? ~~Kinda Long~~

Ok heres the deal, the hangers that are welded/bolted onto the cat, that attach to the rubber piece, then to the car, Rotted away about a month ago. Consequently htye've been tapping the sides of the cat for quite sometime until i got some time to get under there. Previously i was getting CEL with the rear heated o2 sensor or righ maybe i forget. and the knock sensor code and this happened more than once after i reset the light. So i heard about seafoam on the org and i said hey its cheap and it can't be hard so i tried it and i used it twice. I smoked out the neiborhood as suspected. But since i have taken the Brackets off and run seafom thru the car i have gotten two CEL's witht the code 05-05 and its apparently no code so. here's my theory.....The cat deals with cleaning the exhaust on the way out of the car then theres the o2 sensor right behind it in the exhaust lineup. I figure that the cat hangers had hit/tapped the cat so much that anything that was building up(?carbon, i think ?anything else?) and that was clogging the o2 sensor right behind the cat. SO when i took the hangers off and ran seafoam its cleaned the build up and restored my car to relatively good health. If thats right ...cool if its not anybody got any ideas. AND what causes a code of 05-05 ? thanks a lot

Sae Foam doesn't clean anything in the exhaust. You'll get the O2 sensor code again in a day or 2. Just buy a new sensor.

The light has been off for two months since the brackets were taken off and seafoam went it. Since then i have only gotten 05-05? twice .

Wow, maybe it did do something. It's weird since the sea foam burns off inside the engine. I used mine a few weeks ago mainly to clean my injectors. All it did is it just made my gas mileage SUCK even worse. Now ALL the injectors sound like they're clogged. Oh well, it also seemed to work for my friend and I'm glad it worked for you.

If you have no trouble codes you'll always get a 0505 code. It means all is well.

0505 is a ghost code, car wants attention. its very likely the car could have fixed something up stream which then caused it to stop throwing the code to the sensor down stream.

+1 seafoam works great. I've seen first hand how much of a difference it makes by pulling apart 2 compareable mileage engines one with, one without.
I'll have 2 more apart this weekend
