MitsuDodge never made a GSX Spyder (they SHOULD have)... we made one. Actually we made 2, but our first one was trashed from behind by a Ford Explorer. We're still waiting on the insurance money.

Making a GSX Spyder isn't too hard, it's just time consuming and a pretty big pain. It's mostly a bolt on affair, but it does require modifying the frame rails and a few other parts...

The end result is EXTREMELY worth it! The (unwrecked) GSX is under the knife again. When we get the insurance from the other car we're putting in a 4G63/4 2.4L Hybrid longrod motor... Fully built with custom forged innards. Hopefully the Max will be finished before the GSX... that's my love. The GSX is my wifes

Truthfully I'm glad MitsuDodge never made a GSX Spyder. Love the rarity.

Sweet car...I actually responded to the other post you've got your pictures in...that is definately original....very nice...I'd mesh the fogs as you will the IC, that way you'll still get the look when you turn them on, and they won't stand out too much...but I think all in all...it looks sweet!

looks good, but isn't there a point when you do so many things from a 5th gen to a 4th gen, that it begins to kind of lose its identity? That is my opinion anyway. I like the lights though. They look tight. How can you not like the individual, pod-type lights.........and HIDs at that!

All I can say is definetely impressive, keep the fogs man, i think they look nice. I like the look of fogs coming from behind on or off, day or not, its a mean stance.

Wow, that's impressive, I can't wait to see it when it's done. I think you should pearl the paint like you were saying. That will go well with the uniqueness of the rest of the car.

I really think you need to get some custom sideskirts done, as well as a rear lip for the bumper or something not made for the maxima.

The m-bumper hangs a ton lower than any sideskirt made for the maxima can flow with. I think one of the main problems with all the body kits out there for maximas is that they leave the car horribly uneven. The bumpers may flow (as far as how low they sit - not how they look), but the sideskirts will never line up well and it will leave your car feeling front heavy.

My personal opinion is that you fill the fender cutouts, get some thick sideskirts made for bmws/audis/accord retro-fitted and then work on making a thicker rear valance, but not doing a full bumper replacement in back.

It is really nice to see some really custom work going on, I just worry that if you do all this work to the front and you don't go custom with the rest of the body it will look like all the other maximas out there with a body kit.

big thumbs up on the effort so far.

Great custom mod but to give it that complete look I must agree with "thebigsadler". Can't wait for pics.

My car's identity is what I give it. EVERY car I have is a hybrid... engines, drivetrains, and bodywork. As long as you don't go cross-make and put S15 headlights on your eclipse or GTR tailights on your HonDuh

nismo2020:
Didnt make sense? It WAS English. It's not hard skill-wise... but it takes a long time and requires a lot of painstaking work. The VH45DETT is an Infiniti Q45 VH45DE engine 2 x T3/T4 hybrid turbos. It's still in the piping stage and we may opt for one larger turbo. The piping in the engine bay is a HASSLE!!

99Maxima5sp: You're wrong.

thebigsadler: I have semi-custom sideskirts and a totally custom rear bumper. All yet to be unveiled. I have dual exhaust and I HATE all the dual bumpers that are out. I need more agressive body lines on the rear, though... to match the front.

There's only one known AWD convertible 2g DSM. It's silver and was made by road race engineering. And it's not yours.

EDIT: I just realized he said the AWD spyder isn't his. So it could be the one I'm thinking about.

Also, there are TONS of AWD dynos. There's 3 in Connecticut alone.

Just make a custom backing for the fogs so that you aren't letting water and crap through the openings.

all in all lining up body lines is great.. but if it doesnt line up along the bottom of the car you will look like the rest out there with full bumper replacements and tiny sideskirts..

what style rear bumper/skirt are you going with?
