Well, I might as well show everybody........... Whadya think?

Well, I posted pics of my project car in another thread about 5G HIDs in a 4G. I decided not to hog that thread and post my own since the pics are out already. I wasn't going to post pics till I was done... but the other thread provoked me

Custom intercooler.... VERY functional hood scoop. Umnitza DDE angel eyes going on this weekend most likely. That and clear corners... if time permits. The fogs are Hella with matching angel eyes. I was very picky to get the color to match the Umnitza DDE's.

And (for the hell of it) here's our VH45DET(T) final donor. It's getting a S15 frontend and already has R34 GTR tail lights. Again... VERY costly if you have a bodyshop do it.

So what do you think?

Car looks great, headlights looks freaking tight. The only thing I didn't like, is the fog lights.

Color?? It's Primer! It's going to be the stock Nissan 99 Metallic Blue. I might pearl it, but I haven't decided.

I like the fogs because the angel eyes match Umnitza's DDE lights I'm soon to install. What other fogs would you think look better, 1FSTMAX?

That looks good! The only thing i don't like is the fog lights are tucked behind the opening. But i can't think of anywhere else to put them. Good job! Keep us updated.

WOW, I love it.
Do you have other pics? a full view from a 5-10 feet away?
I think the oem fog lights will look better. I don't like the way your fog lights stand out due to it's fitment issues. I think you can either change the fogs or get a different style bumper that has a place for Circle shaped fog lights.
But other than that, I love it. I think you're the first to do this conversion, am i wrong?

Fab a housing for your fogs and your car would definitely get my vote! Just looks weird with the opening the way it is.

D@mn! Those light look soooo clean. Thats one clean setup. Im not sure about the Hella Angel Fogs with Angel eye headlights, seems a little too much. But cant really say anything untill I see what it looks like at night with them lit up.
But over all that front end looks sweet!

Hmm, interesting. Will have to see the whole car to judge whether or not the headlights really suit the body. Either way, very original, and must be VERY costly....

Beautiful job! Can't wait to see the finshed product and hear what you had to do to make it happen. Nice move on the matching of the fog lights - shape and texture match perfectly.

Sweeeet.

good job otherwise man for actually doin the 5th gen lights on a 4th gen!

I'm very impressed! I'm sure it will look awesome when you're done. My only concern is the grill, it looks like it will be choppy unless you straighten out the top edge of the front bumper.

The fogs look good, but like somebody said they would look much better if you made a fiberglass housing for them - shouldn't be too hard for you seeing what you already have done!
Anyways great job.

WOW. I've always wondered what that looked like, but cheap little Photoshops never quite did it for me. Seeing the actual thing it looks amazing. But I'll need to see the whole car to know for sure how it'll look. Something tells me it won't quite feel right overall though...with 4th gen tails. It seems like it might be too much of a combination of old and new that wouldn't blend well...

just my $.02

HOLY CRAP. I'm away from the computer for a day and I can't keep track of the replies! Thanks to everyone for the input!!!!

I do have more pictures, but I'm not going to show them yet... I don't want to give away any other surprises. And yes, I have more.

phatmax95 - Yes, it's a convertible. A heavily reinforced convertible. Conv's are the ONLY way to go. I love our 99 Eclipse GSX Spyder - 443HP to all 4 wheels!

I thought long and hard about the fogs. I put the stock 99's in there and they really didn't look right. The angles were all wrong. I mainly got these because they're hella and because they match Umnitza's DDE's. I doubt I'll mesh them. I WILL mesh the intercooler.

The front grille WAS going to be a custom CNC piece, but we decided not to. We are going to build the fiberglass up around the edges of the lights and hoodline to form a rectangle. We are taking styling cues from the R34 GTR... (after all, that's the steering wheel we have installed). I tell ya... it beats a cheesy MOMO or Grant wheel!

The hood scoop serves 2 parts. 1> It's obviously functional. 2> It's extremely unique.

In case you haven't realized... thats the theme.
UNIQUE The VH45DETT 240, the AWD Spyder, the SR20 Datsun 510, the RB26DETT 240Z, the LS1 Fiero.... AREN'T HYBRIDS AWESOME??? It's like playing with REALLY cool legos. Take a part from here... a part from there... just don't mix Mega Blocks with Legos. (ie small block chevy in a 240z....)

Oh - I just thought of something. Do you think we should ask for sponsorship at some point? If so, who should we ask? We just do this for fun. Our Eclipse and 240z are sponsored, but until recently I never thought of trying to do so with the Max.

There is no such thing as a GSX convertible. They only have a GS-T Convertible which is FWD Turbo.
