Hacking the airbox

Anyone tried drilling holes in their airbox instead of cutting out one big one with a dremel? I'm not sure if it would be better or worse to drill it, but it seems like it would have better structural integrity and reduce the chance of big stuff getting stuck up against the filter.

Unless your "one big hole" is extremely large, structural integrity shouldn't be an issue. I would think getting air from one larger inlet would create more airflow than many small holes. Just my opinion.

look around the maxima.org or on the how to's, I know I have seen some talk about making a bunch of small holes instead of one big one. Makes the car runs smoother, and more air flow. I'm not 100% of this, but if anyone could search the tread that explains that, would probably help.

Any personal experiences from anyone who made a bunch of smaller holes?
