Hi great forum, I just bought a Nissan Maxima 1997 GXE auto, and I have a few question, the first one, it's seems that is leaking oil from the timing chain cover at the bottom not too much, the mechanic said that maybe are some rubber rings inside it`s that true ? another one, will a SE instrument cluster could fit in my car, I like the look of white face gauges, but i dont't know if there's a difference between clusters cause the SE it's Manual Trans, also I'been reading about problems with the trans, any special treatment ??, my car has 115,xxx the car it`s running very well, and i want to keep it that way

Don't know about the timing chain cover leak; never heard of one before. It may just be the oil pressure sending unit; many of those leak a little oil.

The gauges of the 95'-'97 are interchangeable and it is a very easy job. The '98 and '99 have LED odometers instead of analog and are controlled from the ECU so you won't be able to use those.
