airbag light blinking
airbag light blinking
Anybody have any idea why the airbag light is blinking, car was never in an accident, but light is blinking. I would appreciate the help. And has anyone had any problems with the E brake freezing. Thanks
There is a procedure to reset the airbag light, it's posted on the forum somewhere, prob the FAQs.
The e-brake freezing is hopefully not due to your e-brake cable haing been kinked due to improper jacking. If that happened, it probably cut through the insulation to the metal cable and rusted, hence stuck. Check your e-brake cables to see if they're damaged. Just kneel down in front of your rear wheels (under the rear doors) and you'll see the cable, inspect it.

Found the directions under HOW TO's, everything worked out and the airbag light turned off, now onto the problem of the E-brake. When I pull on it at times I have to take it pretty close to the top before I get any real tension. Usually this happens when the weather is cold out, I do know it was unfrozen by a mechanic once before I bought the car. Most of the time when it is a bit warmer I do not notice the problem.
My ebrake froze under freezing point. I replaced the right side cable myself. $65 for the cable. problem solved. A mech with a lift should charge an hour or less to replace it. I took 3 hours crawling under the jacked up car on all 4 corners.
