I was thinking about doing my own oil changes from now on. I want to use Mobil 1 but no places around me will change my oil with Mobil 1 so I guess my only hope is to do the oil myself. Is changing the oil on a 97 Maxima difficult? How can I lift the car enough to get underneath without risking injury to myself? If anyone knows any web sites that give good/detailed info on this I would be greatly appricative.

No need to jack the car... Oil filter is in fornt of Passenger side tire (hidden behind black pastic shield). The drain plug is easy to spot... As for Mobil 1, you may not need to use that if you change oil every 3,000 miles... You should do a search for synthetic oil and read some previous discusssions on that topic if you are interested.
