Part of Maxima Family

just wanted to say hello to everyone and I am excited to be part of the maxima family. I bought a 99 maxima gxe last saturday, and I love the vehicle. I previously had a 89 accord so their is no comparison! I have always wanted one of these cars since college. My best buddy in school bought a 2001 se and the thing is mint, he showed me this site, its sweet man. I just wanted to say whats up, glad to be part of the maxima group, and I plan on having some mods done soon. Peace. -MJ

HEY! Welcome to the board!!!

That's awesome that you bought a Maxima. I actually bought mine last Friday. It's a gorgeous 1998 Black Maxima SE 5-speed. I love it. I'm sure you'll love yours, too. They are truely awesome cars... A BLAST TO DRIVE!

Look forward to seeing what you are gonna have done to it. Enjoy your car!!

Every exhaust system will yield you about the same power. Start with a Y-pipe, the single biggest gain exhaust wise you can do. You can check out www.budgetexhaust.com or www.warpspeedperformance.com for the two cheapest Y-pipes.

Definately post some pics when you get a chance man...

and BTW, welcome to the .org

Welcome to the Org man. I would personally go with an Injen CAI, Cattman y-pipe, and have a shop do the cat-back custom, with your choice of muffler.

Do diffferent Y-pipes make different sounds? I mean, I wanna get something that is beefy and deep sounding, not too ricey. Any suggestions? Or do they all sound the same? (Keep in mind I am talkin about a maxima with ONLY a y-pipe installed....)

Welcome to the org. You'll love the max and will show up the streets when they think that your "grocery getter" is slow. In addition to the Y-pipe, get some DC clears.
