oil separator

when i went to clean my throttle body today i took off my oil separator and it was full of water. also this hose marked by the arrow in the link was filled with thick brown liquid crap http://www.motorvate.ca/auto/maxima/...m_DSC00011.jpg

so this is probably where all the water came from. why is there this brown liquid in this hose and the oil separator filled with water?

You have moisture in your crank case. Do you make short trips that don't allow the car to reach operating temp? Check your oil for water as well. Are you losing coolant? If so you could have a leaking head gasket.

never usally make short trips where the car doesn't warm up. last time i checked oil it was fine. its almost due for an oil change so i will check again. i checked my radiator last week and checked it again today and its at the same level full.

i'm more worried of the brown liquid. its not real dark brown more of a tan color but its thick. so i don't think its a head gasket.

so what is the best way to get all of this tan liquid out of the crank case? this hose just allows the crank case to breathe so it doesn't suck in any air?
