gauge help

I'm too afraid of intalling indiglo gauges so I'm thinking about either just changing the bulbs to blue or getting SE gauges. What kind of light bulbs are put in the gauges? Is it easier to install SE gauges than indiglos. I don't want to cut any wires. Please give me some advice....thanx

all you need is to cutting and slicing stock gauge wire, then use electrical tape and tape the stock gauge wire with the indiglo gauge wire. it's not that hard.

it is harde ot install se gauges than indiglos cause you have ot take teh needles off. indiglo is very easy. also you will need 5 blue bulbs. but they never work cause blue bulbs behind the dash always fade to green.

It seems risky to me from the instructions on maximadriver.com. I don't really want to take the chance. But some shop charged me $75. thats crazy.

I tried blue LEDs and the color was real nice.. but it didnt light up the whole cluster... i switched to bulbs and it lights up the whole cluster but i can barely see my needles.

well.. a lot of mods requires slicing wires, i.e.:
- drop resistor modification
- alarm beeper
- any aftermarket gauges
- apexi s-afc/rsm
etc...

if you feel uncomfertable slicing wires that's fine. a lot of other members simply picked up couple LEDs for the backlight of the stock gauge and just swap them. but during the day u'll still have black face gauge....if that's alrite with you then go for it

btw it took me 2 hours to install my first reversed superwhite SE gauges. my second EL gauges took me 30 minutes. once you learn the experience it won't be hard to do it seems hard at first, but it won't after you accomplish...which is the greatest part about modding

i dont suggest the single #74 leds from them.. i tried the blue ones and they didnt light up the whole cluster... i wish there was a way to get some really bright blue leds that lit up the whole cluster but until i find them im stuck with bulbs.
