Problem replacing front bumper

Hi...My car recently got into an accident. Only the front bumper was damage so I bought a new bumper and tried putting it in myself, however, I'm having the most difficult time replacing it. I can get one of the sides in, but then it would be reallly difficult to put the other side in. Theres always a gap even with lots of forced applied. Does replacing a bumper require some kinda of machine or special tools. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

is it a factory nissan bumper? if it is, then it should fit ok as long as everything else on your front end is straight. if its an aftermarket bumper it might not fit exactly like an oem bumper would.
