anyone use bypass valve with CAI?
anyone use bypass valve with CAI?
I was wondering if anyone uses a aem bypass valve with their CAI, because the filters get wet quick from puddles and rain. I live in MN, and its getting bad here with all the snow melting, do i need to worry about water getting sucked into my engine? Would a bypass valve be worth it?
thanks
thanks

Your fenderliner keeps it dry enough. And ya the bypass is only good if you go through a BIG puddle and fully submerge the filter so then only water is on its way down the pipe instead of air and thats a puddle you never should have driven through in the first place.
You can just take the CAI tube off and make it a hybrid setup during storms. I always carry a screwdriver w/ me to do this. My neighbor w/ a focus hyrolocked his engine w/ a cai and no bypass valve. Fortunatley we do have that factory shield that protects us from splashig. Either get the bypass valve or just make it a Hybrid (Frankencar) style intake.........
