There's no reason for you to get the 3" y pipe unless you plan on getting FI in the future. A regular y pipe will do just fine. If you wanna make sure you beat him, get the JWT ECU/VI combo. Of course, this all depends on what kind of trannies you guys have.

Why are you getting a 3" y-pipe is my first question? If you have a 5spd you'll take him anyway. If you have an auto and he has a 5spd a y should help, 2.5" though since I doubt you're BOOSTED.

if his getting the 2k-2k1 u have nothing to worry about...even thought it has 222 hp it weights 200lbs or more then our car which offset the power...but if it's the 2k2-2k3 with the VQ35de then you'll have to watch out....

yea i know, but he is not sure what do get yet, he don't know maximas that well so im his best pal right now, but if i can get him to buy a 2k that would be just great. well he did mention that he is tight on the budget and his insutrance is screw*ng him, so im preaty sure he is going to get a 2k but u never know.

The 4th gen (1995-1999) are very close to the 2000-2001 5th gens. 4th gens have the advantage off the line, but 00-01's are better at highway speed. 1/4 mile times are about the same, but 4th gens ususally are a little quicker. I wouldn't worry too much unless you are auto and he is 5spd or he opts for an 02-03. 02-03 are dang fast.

yea i don't think he is going to get the 02 03, cause he said he is going to save up 10g's for the car, and i was like....."man ur drunk, u better think about saving up some more to get what u want", so we'll see what happens, but i will beat him, even if it takes maxin both of my credit cards out, i will do it.
