Hood strut replacement.

I tried to remove the hood strut today and it wouldn't budge. Does anybody know how to remove the stock hood shocks?? I'm gonna replacen them with Mighty Lifts from Autozone, only if I can take the stock ones off. Thanks for the help in advance.

As I recall (I've replaced mine twice already), the hood struts are unscrewed from the hood with a simple open-ended wrench. Go back and take another look and you should see where this is done. Make sure you have a partner with you as holding up the hood and installing these at the same time is generally not a good idea. Let me know if you need more info.

Eel, How much did you pay for these Mighty Lifts? My hood struts have been dead for over 3 years and I haven't bothered to replace them yet. I guess it I should invest in a new pair...

Should've bought StrongArms for the lifetime warranty since these struts will die in a year or two

To take the hood struts off, just unscrew the 2 bolts counterclockwise.
